After a year of looking back at where we’ve come from, we’re looking forward to the next 50 years and beyond. So our theme for 2025 is Becoming. “Becoming” helps us recognize that living an abundant life that celebrates our abilities means we need to keep growing, learning, supporting, and being curious. How can we become kinder? Gentler? More generous? As you look ahead to the rest of this year, what does “Becoming” mean to you?

Who We Are
We are a faith-based, registered charity that supports people of all abilities in a variety of person-centered ways. These supports include home living, community support, employment, respite, and social enterprises in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and Vancouver Island. All these services have common goals: instilling a sense of belonging, facilitating personal growth, and enabling people to make positive contributions to their community.
The people we serve may live with developmental disabilities, may have an acquired brain injury, or live with mental health challenges. No matter what their story is, they all deserve a place of belonging. From this connected and supported place, they can direct their own growth and make the contributions they aspire to make.

Coming Full Circle
Linda and Svitlana both began their careers with Communitas at a specific home living option in Abbotsford. Over time, they moved on to other homes but recently found themselves back on the same property where they began – but in different homes! Confused? This story will make everything clear!

Becoming Strong
Arnad might be what one would call a “gym rat” – a title he wears with pride. Arnad has been going to the gym for 25 years and with each visit, he’s becoming stronger!
